今日はEnglandではロンドンの次に大きい都市であるバーミンガムのクリスマスの雰囲気を紹介します。

ということで、ぜひ読んでもらえると嬉しいです。

Today's post is all about the atmosphere of the Christmas season in Birmingham, the second biggest city in England. 

I'd appreciate it if you could spare some time on reading this.

In case you get bored, I used a lot of lovely photos taken by a great photographer. That is me of course.

ここはバーミンガムのcity centre (街の中心部)です。イギリスの冬は街の至るところがイルミネーションでいっぱいになります。

This is the city centre of Birmingham. Most cities and towns in the UK are full of lovely illuminations during winter.

街はたくさんの人で賑わっています。クリスマスはすぐそこです。

The city is really lively with quite a few people. Christmas is just round the corner.

冬のバーミンガムと言えば、クリスマスマーケットは欠かせません。バーミンガムはクリスマスマーケットの規模の大きさでヨーロッパではけっこう有名です。

Talking of winter in Birmingham, you don't want to miss its large-scale Christmas market, for which the city is quite famous in Europe.

たくさんの屋台が出ていて、色んな食べ物が楽しめます。

このチョコバナナはめちゃくちゃおいしくて特にお気に入り。

There are loads of stalls on the street and you can enjoy a variety of foods there. 

Those bananas covered with chocolate are brilliant. They are my favourite. 

食べ物だけでなくたくさんの売り物もありますよ。お土産にぴったしなのでオススメ。こんなのもらったら誰でも喜ぶはず！

Besides food, you can enjoy seeing a lot of lovely handicrafts. I recommend you buy some of them as souvenirs for your family or friends. I bet they'll be well chuffed.

クリスマスマーケットでは屋台だけではなく、こんな感じの即席の遊園地もあります。

You'll find not only stalls but also a funfair like this.

この二つ目のやつ(何て名前かわからん)に乗りましたがこれはえぐい。

見てたら想像がつくと思いますが、これがいかれた時計の針みたいにグルグル回るんです。そしてなんと座席もクルクル回るという。

I rode that whatnot in the second photo and it was rather horrendous.

As you can imagine, it goes round and round really fast like a clock hand that is playing up. Moreover, each seat keeps on rotating as well.

冗談抜きでこれは今まで乗ったアトラクションで一番やばかったです。

Not gonna lie, that one was the most horrifying of all the attractions I've ever tried.

クリスマスの直前にはお祭りがあって、市街地では大きいパレードが見れますよ。

A carnival takes place just before Christmas and you can come across a big parade on the street in city centre. 

パレードを見るためにたくさん人が押し寄せて来て街はかなり賑やかです。

The city is so boisterous since people flock to the street to see the parade.

この人おもしろいですよね笑

ここは本当にあのバーミンガムなのか？イングランド第２の都市の。

Is this truly Birmingham, the second biggest city in England?

街は完全に廃れています。あの賑やかな人たちはみんなどこに行ってしまったんだ。

The city is looking completely run down. Im just wondering where those boisterous people have gone.

日本の若い人たちは彼氏彼女や友達と過ごす人がとても多いですよね。みんな街に出掛けるので、クリスマス当日は街は人でいっぱいになります。

On the one hand, many of the youth in Japan who are not married yet spend time with their partners or friends on Christmas day. As everyone goes down to town, there are crowds of people everywhere.

イギリスでは、クリスマスは家族で過ごす特別な日なので、基本的には家の中にいて外に出掛けたりしません。

On the other hand, Christmas is a special day for British, on which they spend time with their family members. They normally stay at home and don't go outside.

こちらが普段のバーミンガムです。

This is what Birmingham is usually like. 

こういった写真からも、クリスマスがいかに家族と過ごすための大事な日なのかがわかります。

Apparently those photos tell us how important Christmas day is to most Brits.

ただ、もしかしたら休みに入ってて旅行で外国に行っている人も多いかもですね。

But, to be fair, some of them might be on holiday in other countries.

日本のクリスマス文化はけっこう独特なので一度クリスマスについて考えてみるのもいいかもしれません。

It would be nice to learn about what Christmas is originally like because Christmas in Japan is fairly unique and different.

This post hasn't got any useful pieces of information at all as I just ran it off, but I hope you enjoyed reading this and seeing the lovely photos.
